GTA V release date rumoured as June 19 by Amazon

Adding to the on-going GTA V release date rumours, online retailer Amazon has suggested the eagerly awaited game could touch down on June 19.

Although the latest GTA V rumour is far from confirmed, with summer not officially starting until the solstice on June 21, the newly reported June 19 GTA V release date would fit within developer Rockstar’s ‘spring 2013’ launch window, but only just.

The latest GTA V release date rumour, reported by PSXExtreme, has seen the French arm of retail giant Amazon bestow the upcoming addition to the Grand Theft Auto franchise with a June 19 arrival. As always, this rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt with the claimed June 19 launch suggesting one of the year’s most anticipated games will touch down on a Wednesday, missing the high-profile Tuesday launch slot.
A seeming game of guess the date, Amazon France’s GTA V release date prediction is far from the first time a retailer has speculated on the title’s upcoming launch with supermarket behemoth Tesco last month making the game available for pre-order alongside a tipped March 12 arrival.

Remaining tight-lipped on the official GTA V release date beyond its spring 2013 billing, Rockstar has been more outspoken about certain areas of the game with the GTA V map to be the largest environment ever constructed by the developer.

Although scheduled for launch only on the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3, Rockstar has revealed that it has yet to officially rule out plans to bring the title to PC, the Nintendo Wii U or indeed any other emerging platform stating “everything else is up for consideration.”

“We are a third-party publisher. We're not Nintendo, we're not Sony, we're not Microsoft. We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there's the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market,” Rockstar Vice President Dan Houser said of the game’s potential platform support.

He added: “If that's on Apple we put something on Apple. Wherever it might be. I think that's the fun in what we do. We see ourselves as a content company that uses technology. We don't make it; we use it to make the most fun stuff.”

When do you expect to see the long awaited GTA V release date become a reality? Would you be happy to wait until June 19 or do you want to wrap your gamepads around the title sooner?
