GTA V "Business" screenshot analysis

This page collects screenshots from Grand Theft Auto 5 for analysis.

August 19-25, 2012

Rockstar released new screenshots taken from Grand Theft Auto V in late August, 2012. The photos were posted on Rockstar's Newswire in daily batches.

TRANSPORTATION

The first batch of new screenshots from August 20, 2012 showcase various modes of transport that will be available to citizens of San Andreas.

  • We saw a fighter jet in the original trailer, and here it is again. You can take this as 99% confirmation you'll be able to fly one.

  • The Cheetah has been one of the highest-end sports cars in every GTA game since GTA III.

  • Welcome to Santa Monica Pier, or whatever it'll be called in Los Santos. Also note the return of rideable bicycles, like we had in GTA: San Andreas!

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

These screenshots from August 22, 2012 showcase the range of 'leisure' activities on offer in the game.

  • Tennis, anyone? Perhaps tennis will be playable and built off of Rockstar Table Tennis (remember that game?!).

  • Base jumping was added to GTA IV in the Ballad of Gay Tony expansion pack, but this looks much more involved. Skydiving, perhaps?

  • Dirt bike races? Whoa! Another nod back to San Andreas and the countryside areas that completely changed that game. This is an indication that GTA V is huge, both geographically and content-wise.

BUSINESS

Rockstar released four screens with the theme of 'Business' on its Newswire on August 24, 2012.

  • A laser sight on a weapon? That's new. Perhaps weapon attachments are a part of GTA V?

  • An auto transport -- and it appears to be carrying a pretty sweet car. This screenshot appears to be from a mission.

  • This car is likely the Infernus, as the fake GTA vehicle marque has always been the in-game version of the Lamborghini. And this is clearly modeled off of a Lamborghini Diablo.

  • We saw a bi-plane once before in the trailer when it was crop-dusting. It appears you'll be able to joyride in one, too.

June 12, 2012

Rockstar released two screenshots its latest Asked & Answered session in response to the question, "Why don’t you give us more news [on GTA V]?"

  • This shot shows a helicopter over downtown Los Santos. Actual Los Angeles landmarks like City Hall are recognizable.
  • A bridge can be seen leading to an unknown location.

  • This screenshot depicts an Echo Park-like location in Los Santos.

These screenshots accompanied the debut trailer.
